Cascade Paddle Club at a misty Northwest lake, canoes on the shore
Put-in weather. The rest of the day usually improves from here.

Established 1954

Canoes, camp, and the same good company.

We are a small, stubborn group of men who take canoes into the mountains, cook too much, and write it down so the next month has something to live up to.

On the water

This month

Glass in the morning, a portage we deserved, Brick’s skillet, and a lake that remembered how to make a chop.

Coming up

The next few weekends

12 Sep

High Notch overnight

High Notch — Two lakes, one portage. Bring the usual.

10 Oct

Last warm weekend

Ravenshore — Wool in the dry bags even if the forecast looks friendly.

8 Nov

Shop day

Brick’s garage — Gunwales, skid plates, and chili. No water.

12 Dec

Solstice supper

Venue still being sorted — If we find a hall. If we don’t, Brick’s table as usual.

The fellowship

The fellows

A stable crew. We rotate the write-up. The cooking rotation is less formal and tends to land on Brick.
