Sam came in after a meet-up and then simply did not leave. He paddles with a kind of attention the rest of us save for dinner. Bent shaft on moving water, wood on a lake, and a running comparison of both.
He and his partner keep a tandem in the garage for city water, which he mentions only when someone asks why the Keewaydin looks freshly waxed. The partner does not come on these trips. Sam does, and he usually has the better forecast.
